Direct Bill with Ascend
Direct Bill is exactly what it sounds like! Instead of collecting premium net of commission from the retailer (agency bill), you're collecting gross premium directly from the insured.
When using Ascend's direct bill product, you can offer both full-pay and premium financing at the same time, and regardless of which option is selected, the full premium is always released to your company and the carrier.
If premium financing is selected, the insured will sign the finance agreement electronically using Ascend and will use Ascend to make their down payment.

When an insured completes a direct bill payment, Ascend can automatically pay the commission due to the retailer and send them a commission statement.

Why Offer Direct Bill
Direct bill has a number of advantages over agency bill, both for your company and for your retailers
Faster time to cash: instead of invoicing the retailer, waiting for them to invoice the insured, then waiting for them to remit funds to you, you can go direct to the source while still offering an exceptional customer experience.
Less administrative burden: managing invoicing and payments can be a lot of work for retailers. Offering direct bill removes that administrative burden and highlights your company's ease of doing business, increasing the likelihood that they'll be repeat customers.
More visibility: when a retailer finances an agency bill policy and the policy is canceled for non-payment, you might not know the finance company issued the NOIC or NOC until well after the cancelation date. If an insured finances using Ascend direct bill, you'll know the day the go overdue, the exact date they're at risk of cancelation, and can work with the retailer to avoid the cancelation.
Many retailers are already asking for a direct bill option, but you can showcase the option (and your company's innovation) by asking questions like:
Are you interested in a direct bill option?
Is your insured interested in financing their premium?
If the answer to either of those questions is "yes", then you are immediately able to offer a clean, fast direct bill experience to your retailer and their insureds.
