What is a Service Fee on a Finance Agreement?

The service fee is a state-mandated fee applied to financing to cover the cost of filing and processing the finance agreements at the state level. The fees are based on the insured's state and are included in the financing terms as part of the cost of financing incurred by the insured.

In most states, it's a flat fee between $10-$20; in cases where it's not a flat fee, it maxes out at ~3%.

The service fee is not enacted onto a Finance Agreement by Ascend, and Ascend doesn't have the power to waive or not apply the service fee.
